Zambia Update + Prayer Calendar (We Leave Friday!)

Muli bwanji, friends!

We’re just five days away from heading to Zambia. Our flight leaves Friday night! I wanted to send a quick update before we head out and share a prayer calendar my teammate Zora put together. It’s below and follows our daily schedule while we’re in Zambia—it’s a great way to pray alongside us each day.
Some quick updates I’m excited to share:
  • I met my fundraising goal! Thank you to everyone who prayed and gave so generously. If you gave towards the trip and I missed thanking you personally, please know I don’t yet have the full list of everyone who contributed.
  • In addition to the mission team from our church, a second mission team from a Christian high school in Colorado will also be serving at Camp Hope.
  • I’ll be leading a small team at camp alongside three co-leaders: one high schooler from the Colorado mission team, one local Zambian teacher who’ll help with translation, and another Zambian helper focused on behavior support.
  • Together, we’ll guide a group of 30 kids through a full week of camp. Each day includes two Bible lessons, crafts, lunch, and recess—structured around a set curriculum provided by Every Orphan’s Hope.
Even though English is widely spoken in Zambia, not all the kids are fluent, especially the younger ones. So I’m thankful for our local team who will help bridge the gap and ensure every child is seen and heard.
We also have a few other activities planned, including visits to the Every Orphan’s Hope direct care programs. You’ll see those reflected on the prayer calendar. I’ll send another update early next week after we’re settled in Lusaka and have our first team meetings and camp setup day.
In the meantime, please join me in praying for our team, for travel safety, for unity and flexibility, and most of all—that each child would know they are seen, known, and loved by God.
I can’t wait to share back what God is doing in Zambia. Thanks for being part of it with me.
